There will also be an addition of a new concept restaurant by Dairy Queen's Grill & Chill, just to the east. Upon completion this part of town will be an even more dynamic shopping area. 2008 Business After Hours and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Guidelines
Beginning in 2008 the Chesterton/Duneland Chamber of Commerce will be accepting requests to host Ribbon Cutting Ceremony's and Business After Hours on the second Wednesday of each month. This is an outstanding opportunity to showcase your business to your fellow Chamber members and to network with a wide variety of Duneland Business owners and representatives. For Business After Hours events we usually recommend to hold them from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm and serve light refreshments. We will provide you with mailing labels of the membership, will feature one mass email to the entire membership and we will also advertise your event in a press release to the local news media and in our bi-monthly Enewsletter. For Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies you invite who you want and we will bring the giant scissors. Ambassadors will be on hand to help in any way they can.
When was the last time you took the opportunity to showcase your business to the community and /or your fellow chamber members? Business opportunities can develop from a simple gathering as this. We hope you will consider reserving a date for your event. Call the Chamber office now to get your event scheduled for 2008. Reach us at 219-926-5513 and ask for Bonnie or email btrout@chestertonchamber.org

PNC Players to Stage Shakespeare's “As You Like It” at the Mainstreet Theatre in Michigan City. The public is invited the performances at the Mainstreet Theatre, 807 Franklin St., on Saturday April 12, and Friday April 18 at 8 p.m. and Sunday April 13 and Saturday April 19 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 for general admission; $5 for PNC students presenting a valid student ID and $8 for senior citizens and PNC faculty and staff and youth to age 18. “As You Like It,” is the story of a group of city folk forced by circumstance to retreat into the country, which turns out to be one of those countrysides where anything, but especially any kind of love, can happen. The daughter of a banished duke, Rosalind, goes from a subservient position in society to a place where she can run the show, made possible in part by her disguise as a shepherd. The basis of romantic relationships then and now is turned over, examined, found to be wanting in solidity and rational basis, but is ultimately embraced. Tickets may be purchased from the Mainstreet Theatre of Michigan City. To obtain further information or reserve tickets contact the theatre at 219-874-4269. Tickets not sold in advance will be available at the door for each performance. |
